Features
- 3 programmable classes
- Reed switch testing
- Fire LED with 360° visibility
- Remote indicator output terminal available
- Complies with EN 54-5
Description
The DC-9103E Conventional Rate-of-Rise and Fixed Temperature Heat Detector
is a new-generation product from GST. It features a built-in microprocessor
and a highly reliable fire detection algorithm for stable operation.
Upon detecting a fire signal, the detector changes its current to transmit
the signal to the fire alarm control panel (FACP) or addressable zone monitor unit.
The fire LED remains illuminated until reset by power-down.

Terminal Description
- 1: Detection zone positive IN
- 2: Detection zone positive OUT
- 3: Detection zone negative IN and OUT
- 2: Positive terminal of remote indicator
- 4: Negative terminal of remote indicator
Recommended Wiring
Use 1.0 mm² or larger fire-resistant cables for all terminals,
installed in metal conduit or flame-retardant conduit according to local codes.
Note: Use different colored cables to avoid incorrect wiring.
Installation
Fix the orientation base with two tapping screws. Align mark A on the detector
with mark B on the base, then rotate clockwise to mark C to secure the detector.

Application
Warning: The alarm current depends on the FACP current limit.
Do not apply 24VDC directly to the detector, as it may cause damage due to lack
of current-limiting resistor.
The default detector class is A1R with polling LED ON. This can be modified
using a handheld programmer.
Programming
- Enter unlock password and press “Clear”
- Press “Function” + “4”
- Enter parameter value and press “Program” (P will display)
- Press “Clear” to reset, then enter lock password to exit

Reading Detector Class
- Press “Test” to display address
- Press “Up” to cycle through sensitivity, type, and class
This detector is ideal for environments where temperature rises rapidly.
When used with smoke detectors, it enhances fire detection reliability.

System Configuration
- Use DB-01D base when DP-9907 AEOL is installed at loop end
- Use DB-01 base when 4.7kΩ end-of-line resistor is used
- If AEOL is not used as base, install protective cover
- Use diode 1N5819 for multiple detectors with remote indicator
- Maximum 15 detectors per zone monitor unit
Testing
Note: Ensure detector is powered for at least 10 seconds before testing.
- Reed Switch Test:
Use a test tool near the detector until alarm is triggered. - Temperature Test:
Apply heat (e.g., hair dryer) to thermistor until alarm activates.
After testing, disconnect power for at least 10 seconds to reset.
Notify relevant authorities when the system returns to normal.

Maintenance
- Install just before commissioning and protect from dust and moisture
- Do not remove dust cover until system is in operation
- Clean at least once per year
- Disable system before maintenance to avoid false alarms
- Retest after cleaning
- Perform fire simulation test every 6 months
- Protect PCB components from moisture and deformation
